In the room: A tribute to Laura Hill Chapman

Laura Hill Chapman was a remarkable guiding force in art education for more than 6 decades. The community shared cherished memories of Chapman and celebrated her legacy after she passed away in August. Mary Ann Stankiewicz and Marilyn G. Stewart, both emerita professors of art education and longtime NAEA leaders, collaborated on a tribute in the latest issue of NAEA News. “Just as ideas and dispositions of an exceptionally fine teacher stay with us and guide us in our work, Laura Chapman’s influence will long be felt. She is, essentially, ‘in the room’ with us,” they wrote.
