Fiber Arts Makers (FAM)

Established 2025

Purpose: Fiber arts offer a rich and diverse range of creative expressions, from weaving and sewing to knitting and dyeing. They are found in every culture and provide a window into unique artistic traditions and global connections. Today, fiber artists are pushing boundaries and exploring new materials and techniques. Their work is increasingly recognized and celebrated, as evidenced by the popularity of fiber art presentations and workshops during NAEA conferences. Social media platforms have also become valuable spaces for sharing knowledge and connecting with like-minded educators. The Fiber Arts Makers (FAM) Interest Group provides a dedicated platform for NAEA members interested in fiber arts, as well as networking opportunities, professional development, and a space to share ideas and experiences.
