National Arts and Cultural Organizations Develop a Statement on The Arts Sector and COVID-19 Relief

The Cultural Advocacy Group (CAG) which includes NAEA, have adopted a joint statement on the impact of COVID-19 on the arts sector). The Cultural Advocacy Group regularly monitors federal policy and appropriations related to the arts on an ongoing basis. The group has been meeting at least once weekly throughout the pandemic crisis. Members of the group have been instrumental in communicating with members of Congress to ensure opportunities for nonprofit cultural organizations, artists, and cultural workers including freelance and self-employed workers as federal programs have been developed. CAG has benefitted from updates by staff of the National Endowment for the Arts during these meetings. If your state affiliate is interested in using this document, please feel free to do so. You may find it useful to see if you state arts advocacy group is planning to disseminate it with a “sign on” by organizations in your state.
