NAEA Website Redesign Receives Awards

The National Art Education Association (NAEA) launched a redesigned website on February 16, 2016. The new website’s features, functionality, and usability have been updated to reflect the latest technologies and user experience best practices. By working with NAEA staff and stakeholders, NAEA has created a digital presence that supports its vision of advancing visual arts to fulfill human potential and promote global understanding.

In recognition of the new design, NAEA has received two national awards:

• The 2016 Web Award for Outstanding Achievement in Web Development in the Nonprofit Category from the Web Marketing Association
• A Silver Award in two categories—Website Features: Visual Appeal and General Website Categories: Associations—from the W³ Awards

The Web Marketing Association was founded in 1997 to help set a high standard for Internet marketing and development of the best websites on the World Wide Web. Staffed by volunteers, this organization is made up of Internet marketing, online advertising, PR, and top web site design professionals who share an interest in improving the quality of online advertising, internet marketing, and website promotion. The Web Marketing Association is the producer of the WebAward Competition. Now in its 17th year, the WebAward program is the longest running annual website award competition dedicated to naming the best Web sites in 96 industries while setting the standard of excellence for all website development.

The W³ Awards honor creative excellence on the Web, and recognize the creative and marketing professionals behind award-winning Websites, Web Video, and Online Marketing programs. This is the first major Web competition to be accessible to everyone from the biggest agencies to the smallest firms. The W³ Awards is sanctioned and judged by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts, an invitation-only body consisting of top-tier professionals from a “Who’s Who” of acclaimed media, advertising, and marketing firms. This year W³ received nearly 5,000 entries.
