Recognition for NAEA Member Renee Sandell

Miami University Department of Art would like to announce Renee Sandell as the 2015-2016 Distinguished Lecturer in Art Education for the John A. and Betty J. Michael Autobiographical Lecture Series in Art Education. As part of the honor, Sandell presented her autobiographical lecture at the Miami University Art Museum, facilitated a panel discussion with preservice art education students, and conducted a workshop for educators at the museum last April. Participants enjoyed a wealth of knowledge, collegiality, and immense inspiration from this esteemed educator.

The John A. and Betty J. Michael Autobiographical Lecture Series in Art Education was initiated by Betty Michael. Outstanding educators who have retired or are near retirement are invited to present autobiographical lectures in the series, noting the influences which have shaped their philosophy about art education and the arts. The lecture series is archived each year and currently the collection is being digitized to allow for greater accessibility and to further celebrate these incredible educators and artists. The digitized collection will be publicized when complete.
