The Arts Education for All Act, introduced by Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici from Oregon, supports arts educators and expands programming experiences for children of all ages, including those who are in early education, K-12, and youth involved in the juvenile justice system. Having access to a well-rounded education will equip students with the skills to succeed in the 21st-century workforce. The bill includes provisions that further arts and arts education research, supports professional development for elementary and secondary educators, and partnerships to increase arts education and development in afterschool and summer learning programs.
We were honored to have Dr. Wanda Knight, President-Elect of NAEA, speak at the virtual introduction of the bill, sharing the importance of arts education in her life and career and why this bill is such an urgent measure. You can hear her complete remarks here.
