2024 NAEA Research Commission Nominating Committee

The NAEA Research Commission advances the ongoing research needs of the visual arts education field. Commissioners coordinate and communicate about research that relates to the needs of practitioners and stakeholders who are concerned with understanding critical questions of importance to the field in order to provide the highest quality visual arts education possible in our schools and educational institutions.

The Nominating Committee carefully and collectively reviews all nominees for the NAEA Research Commission to select a slate of candidates for each upcoming elected position. Commissioners are then chosen from this slate of candidates by a Review Committee made up of Research Commissioners.

The Research Commission is seeking one nominating committee member from each NAEA region. View the NAEA Membership Regions.

A Nominating Committee member must:

  • Be a current member of NAEA.
  • Possess reasonable knowledge of the workings and structure of the Research Commission.
  • Have the ability to confidently and clearly express their opinion regarding potential candidates.
  • Be willing to consider others’ opinions regarding potential
  • Possess a clear understanding of why they would like to serve on this committee, as well as what they would bring to the Nominating Committee.
  • Support NAEA’s purpose and goals relating to equity, diversity, and inclusion.

If you plan to submit your nomination for an elected position of the Research Commission, please do not apply to be on the Nominating Committee.

The 2023–2024 Nominating Committee will identify candidates for the next Commissioner cycle in 2024.
