2018 NAHS/NJAHS Juried Exhibition

June 11 - September 21, 2018
The third annual National Art Honor Society/National Junior Art Honor Society (NAHS/NJAHS) Juried Exhibition showcases the artwork of talented student artists who are members of the NAHS/NJAHS programs. This competitive exhibit provides a backdrop to a variety of national and local events held at the NAEA Studio & Gallery in Alexandria, VA during the summer months.

NAEA received 1,160 submissions and 66 works have been selected for exhibition in the NAEA Studio and Gallery. All submissions are featured in the NAEA Virtual Gallery.

NAEA would like to thank the representatives from twelve member schools of the Association of Independent Colleges of Art and Design (AICAD) who served as jurors: The University of the Arts, Pacific Northwest College of Art; Laguna College Of Art + Design; Parsons School of Design, The New School; School of the Art Institute of Chicago; Minneapolis College Of Art And Design; San Francisco Art Institute; Maryland Institute College of Art; Pennsylvania College of Art & Design; College for Creative Studies; Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts; and Kansas City Art Institute.

2018 Congressional Art Competition - Rep. Don Beyer’s 8th District

April 30 - May 31, 2018
For the third year, the NAEA Studio & Gallery will showcase Virginia Congressman Don Beyer’s 8th District National Art Competition. One outstanding work of art will be selected by NAEA members to hang in the U.S. Capitol as part of the Congressional Art Competition exhibit.

2017 NAEA Member Exhibition

October 1, 2017 – April 15, 2018
NAEA holds an annual juried exhibition of member artwork. The exhibit showcases artwork created by NAEA’s vibrant professional community of visual arts educators, highlighting the artistic skill and vision of members worldwide.

NAEA received 422 submissions for the 2017 exhibit, and 65 works were juried by a panel of arts leaders for display in the exhibition. All submissions are featured in the NAEA Virtual Gallery.

2017 NAHS/NJAHS Juried Exhibition

June 5 – September 15, 2017
The National Art Education Association (NAEA) holds an annual juried exhibition of National Art Honor Society/National Junior Art Honor Society (NAHS/NJAHS) student artwork. Out of 767 submissions received for the 2017 exhibition, 60 artworks were selected for display in the NAEA Studio & Gallery. All submissions are featured in the NAEA Virtual Gallery.

NAEA would like to thank the seven juror representatives from members schools of the Association of Independent Colleges of Art and Design (AICAD): School of the Museum of Fine Arts / Tufts University, Massachusetts College of Art and Design, Kansas City Art Institute, Memphis College of Art, College for Creative Studies, School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and New Hampshire Institute of Art. Juror selections were guided by scoring in 5 categories: Visual Communication, Execution, Formal Elements, Originality, and Artist Statement.

Congressman Don Beyer’s 8th District National Art Competition

George Mason University’s Art Education Graduate Student 3D Sculpture

May 1-31, 2017
George Mason University’s NAEA Student Chapter will showcase sculptures created in the class of Professor Aaron Stratten, Fairfax County Public School’s K-12 Art Educational Specialist. This will be the first ever Pre-Service NAEA Member Exhibit!

2016 NAEA Member Exhibition

October 1, 2016-April 21, 2017
Art leaders from Alexandria, VA juried 203 submitted works, selecting 69 pieces to be exhibited.
