NAHS Council & National Student Council
2025–2026 National Art Honor Societies Student Council Ambassadors
We are thrilled to announce the 2026–2027 National Art Honor Societies Student Council Ambassadors! These exceptional middle and high school students have been selected for their passion for the visual arts, design, and media arts. They bring a dedication to leadership and a commitment to upholding the highest standards in art scholarship, character, and service. The call for ambassadors takes place annually from May through September. The next call for nominations will open in May 2027. All registered NAHS and NJAHS student members are eligible for nomination.
As National Art Honor Society Student Council Ambassadors, these students will represent their respective NAEA Regions—Eastern, Southeastern, Western, and Pacific. We look forward to the ideas, creativity, and energy these student leaders will bring to their roles. Congratulations again to our new Ambassadors!
EASTERN REGION

Klara Schnore
Kutztown Area High School, Pennsylvania
NAHS Sponsor: Benjamin Hoffman
Klara Schnore is a senior at Kutztown High School in Berks County, Pennsylvania. She is a passionate advocate for the importance of art education in schools. She believes art fosters individuality, supports mental health, and encourages creative problem solving. Klara currently serves as president of the Kutztown High School National Art Honor Society, and she previously held the role of class president for 2 years. She is a dedicated student athlete and participates in varsity softball. She is also the proud recipient of the prestigious Jack Coggins Memorial Award for her creativity and innovation. Klara is also an active community member and strives to make her school and town a more creative place. During the summer, she loves devoting a week to help at a local art camp for younger children. Looking ahead, she hopes to pursue art education and to advocate for the arts and young artists within and beyond the classroom.

Monica Chen
Amity Regional High School, Connecticut
NAHS Sponsor: Jessica Zamachaj
Monica Chen is a senior at Amity Regional High School in Connecticut who is passionate about using art for good. She believes creative expression is a vessel for change and can help people feel a true connection to themselves, others, and the world at large. Monica is currently serving her 2nd year as Amity NAHS president. She also volunteers as an art teacher for children at a local Chinese school, works in product design to build an ergonomic henna applicator, and runs her own banner business. Outside of her artistic endeavors, Monica also works hard on Asian American advocacy in her town. In her free time, Monica enjoys pogoing, going to the gym, and spending time with her cat, Millie.

Jackie Kubikian
Saint Gregory’s School, New York
NAHS Sponsor: Chelsea Delaney
Jackie Kubikian is a 13-year-old 8th grader from upstate New York. She attends her final year at Saint Gregory’s School and is extremely excited for the opportunity to be part of the National Junior Art Honor Society. Jackie plays lacrosse, basketball, and piano. She is bilingual and very active in the Armenian American community and church. Jackie’s favorite type of art is collage-making, but as long as she is making art, she is happy. She is so excited for this opportunity. She would like to thank everyone who has helped her achieve this great recognition, especially Ms. Delaney, her art teacher and mentor from Saint Gregory’s school!
SOUTHEASTERN REGION

Momin Mahmood
Destrehan High School, Louisiana
NAHS Sponsor: Kelly Pourciau
Momin Mahmood is a 12th–grade artist and student leader whose passion for the arts is rooted in a belief that creativity has the power to connect people, shape communities, and inspire new ways of thinking. As the founder and current president of his school’s National Art Honor Society, he has worked to create greater opportunities for students to experience, appreciate, and advocate for the arts. His commitment extends beyond his school through his service on the St. Charles Parish Public Schools Arts Steering Committee, where he contributes a student perspective to the future of arts education. His artistic accomplishments include being named Louisiana’s Doodle for Google winner, receiving the Congressional Art Award from Representative Steve Scalise, and earning a 5 on the AP 2-D Art and Design Portfolio. His curiosity and problem-solving abilities have also led to success in STEM, including recognition as a state science fair winner and state mathematics competition champion.

Mckinley Oubre
Dutchtown High School, Louisiana
NAHS Sponsor: Kami Rainey
Mckinley Oubre is a senior at Dutchtown High School in Geismar, Louisiana, and is the president of the NAHS chapter at her school. Mckinley is a 3-year member of NAHS and Thespians Society and 2–year member of the Vocal Ensemble Choir group. Art has always been a part of who she is, whether by creating a surrealist painting, performing on stage, writing, or simply finding a new way to express herself. She is so grateful for the opportunity to share her love for art and community as an NAHS Ambassador, while continuing to do what she loves alongside people who share this passion.
WESTERN REGION
Jasper Harvey
Rosemount High School, Minnesota
NAHS Sponsor: Alicia Hinkley
Jasper Harvey is a senior at Rosemount High School (RHS). He is the current president of RHS’s’s NAHS chapter, first chair of the City of Rosemount’s Youth Commission, and the cofounder of the RHS creative writing club. Jasper is also active in DECA, NHS, national French society, and yearbook, and he creates social media content for RHS. Outside school, he volunteers with River Valley Project Explore for special needs adults, and with regions hospital. Jasper loves painting, watercolor, soft pastels, and creating sculptures out of anything and everything. NAHS has helped him rekindle his love of art and find his voice over the past 4 years, and he hopes to help others do the same.
Ella Grail
Ames High School, Iowa
NAHS Sponsor: Lindsay Wede
Ella Grail is currently a senior at Ames High School, located near Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. She is a driven artist with an extensive contest and exhibit history. She has been an active and engaged participant in NAHS and NJAHS starting in 2021.
During those years, she has done substantial service, including The Memory Project, Hospice Project, and volunteering at local art events. Throughout her time in NAHS, she has risen to a leadership position for her school’s chapter. Highlights for Ella have included being the state winner for Doodle for Google, attending the first National Art Honor Society Conference, and becoming a two-time finalist for the Unsung Heroes project.
PACIFIC REGION

Tanvi Kulshreshtha
BASIS Phoenix, Arizona
NAHS Sponsor: Vivian Conte
Tanvi Kulshreshtha is a senior at BASIS Phoenix. She served on the Arizona Youth Arts Council and as the 4-year president of the National Art Honor Society (NAHS/NJAHS), where she combines her love for art and leadership. Art has always been central to who she is—whether through painting, sketching, graphic design, or playing piano. Tanvi has led a variety of community-based art projects, including interactive murals, community garden benches, Empty Bowls fund-raisers, and senior home art workshops, all with the goal of making art more accessible and meaningful. Her favorite medium is acrylic painting because of its ability to create vibrant layers and depth. Through these experiences, Tanvi has grown into a dedicated, innovative, and collaborative leader, and she is honored to continue serving her community through the council this year.

Michael Gonzalez
New West Charter High School, California
NAHS Sponsor: Holly Stuczinski
Michael Gonzalez is currently a senior at a high school in Los Angeles. He enjoys piano composition, chess, spending time at the beach, weightlifting, and his part-time job at Coldstone Creamery. Michael the current president for two clubs at his school: National Art Honor Society and Christian Club.
Art-related accomplishments include participating at CAEA’s Youth Art Month Show and the Congressional art show, as well as being featured in NAHS News and at the Autry Museum, in addition to winning first place for his school’s annual art show.
Collaboration is important to Michael because while anyone can lead, he finds that allowing others the opportunity to introduce their ideas always leads to a better result.

Yoona Pristera
Lakeside Middle School, Washington
NAHS Sponsor: Ji Hoon Lee
Yoona Pristera is an 8th grader at Lakeside Middle School in Seattle, Washington, who enjoys fine art, illustration, and product designs. She especially loves drawing with fine-tip pens and creating detailed illustrations that tell a story.
Yoona believes art is more than something to look at. It can bring people together, share feelings and ideas, and help us see the world through someone else’s eyes. She believes that even a small piece of art can make someone smile, spark curiosity, or create a connection.
If you see Yoona, you might want to hide your notebook or even your napkin. She may turn them into characters, funny stories, or little worlds she wants to share with you. Her art has the power of making people laugh or cry, or both!


The NAHS National Student Council is composed of eight student leaders — two representatives from each of the four NAEA regions: Eastern, Southeastern, Western, and Pacific. The Council meets virtually throughout the year, cohosts NAEA Open Studio Conversations, and provides valuable feedback to the NAEA on NAHS programs and initiatives.
