Announcing the New National Art Honor Societies Logo

With over 300 submissions received, Shahil Rihad’s design was selected as the winning concept and is now the official logo for the National Art Honor Societies.

The National Art Honor Societies Logo Concept Design Competition launched in the Fall of 2024 as part of NAEA’s ongoing commitment to recognizing student creativity and leadership in the visual arts. For over 40 years, the National Art Honor Society programs have celebrated students who demonstrate excellence in art scholarship, character, and service. This competition invited National Art Honor Society students to help shape a new visual identity for NAHS and NJAHS by designing a fresh and dynamic logo.  With over 300 submissions received, Shahil Rihad’s design was selected as the winning concept and is now the official logo for the National Art Honor Societies.

Rihad is a senior at Upper Darby High School, just outside of Philadelphia in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania. He first became interested in art and design in 2020 when, in middle school, he experimented on a school project by thinking more outside the box. Since then, Rihad has become deeply involved in art and design and is known for creating human-centered works. He focuses on an open-minded approach that makes things simpler and more comprehensible for others. Outside of design, Rihad values the perspectives of others and is a thoughtful collaborator. He is a proud member of multiple clubs, including the National Art Honor Society.
