National Art Honor Society (7-12)

Recognize Your Young Artists' Achievement!

Show your school and local community that you are a champion of art education! Start recognizing outstanding abilities in the arts and support your young artists by joining the National Art Honor Society or National Junior Art Honor Society.

National Art Honor Society (NAHS) is designed specifically for high school students in grades 9-12. In 1978, the National Art Education Association began the National Art Honor Society program specifically for high school students, for the purpose of inspiring and recognizing those students who have shown an outstanding ability in art. The NAHS strives to aid members in working toward the attainment of the highest standards in art areas, and to bring art education to the attention of the school and community.

Why should your school join NAHS? We'll tell you...
1. Become part of our professional NAEA community.
2. Students become members of a distinguished group of over 33,000 art students.
3. Students are eligible for the Rising Star Secondary Recognition Award
4. Seniors are eligible to receive the Charles M. Robertson Memorial Scholarship--a special four-year scholarship to Pratt Institute School of Art and Design in New York.
5. Eligibility to apply for the NAEA Standards Award.
6. Sponsors can attend NAEA's annual National Convention or the Co-sponsored Academies & Institutes held throughout the country.
7.Receive NAHS News twice a year.
8. Impress them! Institutions of higher education view the NAHS as a mark of accomplishment.

National Junior Art Honor Society (NJAHS) is designed specifically for students in middle school and junior high school (grades 7-9), which helps generate interest in art programs at the secondary level. Students inducted to the NJAHS must then be nominated for the NAHS when appropriate.

Why should your school join NJAHS? We'll Tell You...
1. Become part of our professional NAEA community.
2. Students become members of a distinguished group of over 33,000 art students.
3. Students are eligible for the Rising Star Secondary Recognition Award
