Call for Nominations: NAEF Board of Trustees

Nomination deadline: January 19, 2024

The Board of Trustees of the National Art Education Foundation is seeking nominations for one new trustee who will take office at the conclusion of the 2024 NAEA Convention in Minneapolis. Potential trustees should have a strong commitment to advancing the cause of art education and insights on grant making; they should be willing to work and to make financial contributions to NAEF.

There will be one position on the Board of Trustees available starting in spring 2024. Nominees should be prepared to serve a 2- to 6-year term. Most terms start as 4-year terms with the option to extend the term for an additional 2 years, depending on when the terms of other Trustees are scheduled to end.

Trustee responsibilities include:

  • Attending all annual meetings, usually held during the NAEA National Convention, at their own expense (usually 8 am–4 pm on Wednesday prior to the start of the Convention scheduled for Thursday–Saturday);
  • Sharing committee work and participating in board meetings;
  • Reviewing grant proposals;
  • Acting as a communicator/ambassador within the NAEA membership and externally, including promoting ticket sales for the NAEF Annual Fundraising Benefit Event, which takes place during the NAEA Convention.
