Call for Nominations: NAEF Board of Trustees

The National Art Education Foundation (NAEF) invests in innovative initiatives to support instructional practice, research, and leadership in visual arts education. As an independent, philanthropic organization, NAEF has supported 375 individual projects for NAEA members since its inception in 1985. NAEF is committed to supporting the visual arts, design, and media arts community to the fullest.

Two NAEF Board of Trustees Positions Available

The Board of Trustees of the National Art Education Foundation (NAEF) is seeking nominations for two new trustees who will take office at the conclusion of the 2025 NAEA National Convention, taking place March 20–22, in Louisville, KY. Potential trustees should have a strong commitment to advancing the cause of art education, insights on grantmaking, and be willing to donate time and make financial contributions to NAEF.

Nominees should be prepared to serve a four-year term with the option to extend office for a second 4-year term, depending on when the terms of other Trustees are scheduled to end. NAEF work happens year-round on a cyclical basis.

NAEF Trustee responsibilities include:

• Attending an annual in-person meeting at their own expense (this meeting usually occurs at the NAEA National Convention on the Wednesday prior to the start of the Convention);
  
• Sharing committee work and participating in virtual Trustee meetings;
• Reviewing grant proposals;
• Acting as a communicator/ambassador on behalf of NAEF within the NAEA membership and externally, including promoting fundraising efforts.

• The extended deadline for receipt of nominations is Friday, November 15, 2024.
