Dr. John Mahlmann is executive director of Music Educators National Conference in Reston, Virginia. Formerly he was executive director of the NAEA, president and director of the Sino-American Cultural Society, Greater Reston Arts Center, Fairfax County Council for the Arts and the Center for Educational Associations.
Recognized as a major spokesperson for arts education, as well as the author of numerous articles, John has built a nationwide reputation as an effective leader in education and took the lead in developing the National Standards for Art Education.
