D. Jack Davis is professor of art and director of the North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts (NTIEVA) at the University of North Texas (UNT). During his 37-year tenure at UNT, he has served as director of graduate studies in art, chair of the Department of Art, vice provost of the university and, from October 1993 to 2004, as dean of the School of Visual Arts.
Jack has authored more than 40 publications and presented more than 70 papers at professional meetings. His research and development and creative activities have been funded with more than $10 million in external funds.
A lifetime member of NAEA, he has been active in the organization for 45 years. Jack has served as a member of the NAEA board of directors and on many committees for the organization. He currently chairs the Trustees of the National Art Education Foundation.
