What Do the Numbers Mean?
Membership ID cards, renewal notices, and publication labels provide valuable information:

Memberships are processed on a daily basis.
NOTE: Customer ID is the same as your Member ID.
New Members
New memberships begin the date that payment is processed in the system and expires the following year on the last day of the previous month. Members receive 12 months of membership benefits. A typical new member record will look like this:

Renewing Members
When renewals are received on or before the expiration date, membership is extended one year from the original expiration date. A typical renewing member record will look like this:

Lapsed Memberships
Lapsed members receive no benefits but they do retain their Membership ID number and maintain their initial join date if they renew. Maintaining an initial join date is important for members to receive benefits that relate to longevity of membership. Lapsed memberships cannot be made retroactive.
