Note: This Position Statement was reviewed and revised in preparation for the March 2013 NAEA Delegates Assembly and NAEA Board Meeting. The Delegates Assembly recommended that the Position Statement be broadened to reflect the multiple ways in which art educators create an inclusive classroom to reflect diversity, including: race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds, in the classroom The revisions were not adopted and no changes will be made to the Position Statement at this time while this process is under consideration.
