The first step in our journey toward the development of NAEA’s next Strategic Plan begins with the discovery process. To find out what visual arts educators envision for their professional organization and its priority goals over the next 3 years, the NAEA Next Strategic Planning Studio is featured during the 2010 NAEA National Convention in Baltimore. Using a design-thinking model, the NAEA Next Strategic Planning Studio creates an opportunity for active engagement by more than 700 visual arts educators, representing all teaching levels and an international variety of geographic locations, to provide input on their goals for the association in the following areas: Learning, Advocacy, Community, Knowledge and Research, and Organizational Vibrancy (originally titled “Organizational Sustainability”). Participating art educators contribute their vision through writing, the creation of visual art, and group discussions. A Discovery Team comprised of NAEA members representing all member divisions, lead the process with process guidance provided by expert organizational planning consultant |
